riders to enter the ring in a timed event to win, as usually the later entries
have the advantage of watching and avoiding problems or mistakes made by those
who go before them. <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:10.0pt'>But in the world of equitation
it is always the exception that confirms the rule and that's exactly what
happened in <b>Class 4</b> (<b>Tamoil</b>) of the 14th <b>Vincenzo Muccioli
Challenge</b> at <b>San Patrignano</b>. The consecutive phase class for young
horses was in fact won by <b>James Paterson-Robinson</b> on the Belgiam gelding
<b>Dasko</b>, who entered the ring second in the starting order. They were
actually the first to complete the course as the previous horse, Gut
Neuenhofs Cimba ridden by Ludger Beerbaum had two refusals, leading to
elimination. The winning Australian horse and rider went clean with
32.54", setting such a high standard that the rest of the riders found
themselves forced to cut the course very "tight". With a young horse
and with such a challenging course and environment, this was truly a tough
race. <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:10.0pt'>“It was a great win, and
going in second, I had to jump the course without any outside input. Except for
one jump where the horses were spooked by a shadow, it was a fine course, not
too hard for a horse like mine". A win that will lead to World
Championships then? " I hope so and I think there is a good chance".
Seeing as it is the first time at San Patrignano, can you give me some
impressions? "Really an incredible place. I visited the Community this
morning and I really admire what is being done with the people, to help them
here. Aside from this, the organization of the show is great". <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:10.0pt'>Behind Patterson-Robinson in
the class was Brazil's <b>Pedro Veniss</b>, riding <b>Cornet D'Amour</b>, a
grey by Cornet Obolensky, just a couple seconds behind (0/0 34.37") and
Finland's <b>Nina Fagerstrom</b> on <b>Touch Down</b> (by Nabab de Reve).<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:10.0pt'>Best Italian playing went to
Juan Carlos Garcia on the Sella Italiana Delphinium del Sole (by Heartbreaker)
who had the same time as the winner but had a pole down on a vertical in the
second round when he cut a corner a bit too tight.<o:p></o:p></p>
